Holistic Arts-Based (HAP) Program at Laurentian University

  • Member for 13 years, involved in research under the supervision of Dr. Diana Coholic, creator of the Holistic Arts-Based Program
  • Facilitated mindfulness and arts-based interventions for vulnerable children and youth, showing benefits in stress reduction, emotion regulation, and improved coping skills.
  • My PhD research examined the potential benefits of arts-based mindfulness-based interventions in promoting mental health, improving parent-child interactions, and supporting the overall well-being of adolescent mothers. Through my research, I have contributed new knowledge to the literature that provides insights on the value of arts-based mindfulness methods as a feasible, suitable, and beneficial intervention for adolescent mothers.

Indigenous Transition Program (ITP) at Cambrian College

  • Supported the development and delivery of ITP, aiding Indigenous students’ transition to post-secondary education.
  • Developed data collection tools, analyzed survey and focus group data, and supervised student facilitators and researchers.
  • Contributed to academic advising, tutoring, cultural support, and resource access tailored to Indigenous learners.

Evaluation Consultant for Better Beginnings Better Future’s Collective Kitchen Program

  • Developed data collection methods, analyzed findings, and wrote evaluation reports.
  • Led a participatory photovoice project, highlighting the program’s impact on participants.
  • Paper published in the Canadian Journal of Program Evaluation

Evaluation of Better Beginnings Better Future’s Baby’s Breath Program

  • As YouthREX Northern Hub Manager, I evaluated the Baby’s Breath Program, which provides support for pregnant and parenting teenagers.
  • Findings used to secure additional funding for program sustainability.

Youth Agricultural Mentorship (YAM) Program

  • Supported program development and evaluation, engaging youth in agriculture through mentorship and training.
  • Organized activities and analyzed data on participant experiences.
